Those bumpers on the S3 just let it down (for me). It almost looks ‘too modern’ - gotta be chrome ones which means an earlier car. I do like. The interior of the white one though … I’ve never really been a fan of leather interiors - but on a Jag, I suppose it’s the preferred option, although, vinyl or cloth are okay with me too.

I had a Daimler V8 (with 5,000 miles on it) in 2018 or thereabouts. That 2.5 V8 is such a sweet little engine and really pleasant to drive with. I'd love to try a manual one, but then I'd also love to put the larger 4.5 litre Daimler V8 in that MkII body shell....
Now you're talking!

Another chap I knew dragged a Majestic Major DQ450 out of a barn. It was (mostly) complete but needed all sorts of bits like exhausts, tyres etc. Never one to change something that didn't need changing, he bumbled around the local scrappies until he had assembled enough bits to get this thing an MoT. As an example, I remember it having different exhaust tailpipes on either side: one was from an XJ6, the other wasn't. Anyway, it passed, and he continued to run it for years, doing just enough to keep it going. It was never washed, so existed in its barn exit state - complete with cobwebs - but the 4.5 V8 would happily light up its rear tyres and see off most hot hatches at the lights.

Fun fact: due to the design of the automatic gearbox, it could be bump-started. Not that you'd want to push it...

That'll be because its dual pumped, some boxes were. It was an option on some Borg Warner boxes.

You could start with Ken Jenkins in Worksop, he specialises in the older cars... https://www.jecsw.co.uk/supporters/ken-jenkins-cla...

Also, try KWE Engineering in Berkshire, they do restoration, tuning and improvements etc, they specialise in XJs onwards but it's worth asking if they can do the same mods on a Mk2... https://www.kwecars.com/

And Fosseway Performance in Gloucestershire... https://www.fossewayperformance.co.uk/

It's definitely a Mk1 lowdrag, here's a similar angle of a Mk2...

What a coincidence, that's my old car with it's previous registration on. Even the nodding dog on the rear parcel shelf is in place.

This is for a MK 1, but I thought you might like to see the prices:-
