Thanks to the glowing reviews here, I've bought this game plus the DLC bundled in and it downloaded to version 2.01 and is now updating to the latest patch and it is another...22.51GB on Xbox X.

I've not played it before so will start it later - just finished Starfield so needed another game to get stuck into.

Just checked my Xbox and it's updated but the overall size hasn't really changed so I think it perhaps overwrote some files. Only just cleared off enough room for Forza rofl

Probably depends if it's downloaded uncompressed or compressed.

Yep, the overall is still smaller than Starfield and much smaller than Forza so despite being a large patch, it is just overwriting, not really adding.

For those of you with multiple run throughs before 2.0/Phantom Liberty, what style did you play in PL an how did it compare to before. I went stealth hacking and it as a hell of a lot harder, Hanson and Smasher both seemed to stop taking quick hack damage when they got down to ~30% (or were barely taking).

While I have a save just before the key phantom liberty decision point just about to drive in to Black Diamond to 'rescue' Songbird I might start again. Not with Berserk and unlikely to go Sandevistan, but maybe shotgun/blade with a deck for cameras/turrets.

Haven't played in 6 months or so. Fire it up and download phantom liberty. Had to redo all my skill things and I feel like I may start another playthrough hehe I'm about 60 hours in to that character so a bit of a bugger but I've no idea where to allocate points etc.

I started a fresh and it seems like the best bet from what I've seen/read on-line wink - also means you get in to the new cyberware and skill tree at a gentler pace.

I started fresh as well and am really happy with that decision. Looking at the skill tree to re-point felt a bit much without contextualizing it with my playstyle if that makes sense?

Same as above, I had 120 hours into my first character so started a new playthrough with the 2.0 update and PL. Much better way to experience all the changes and work out how you want your character to play,

I've jumped into this, was fed up with Starfield & a friend mentioned i may like this
Downloaded both the old & the new, started from the old & i'm muddling through it
Does seem a bit "buggy" however i'll keep pushing
Any hints & tips would be great

Interesting, what bugs have you been having? Since the 2.0 update the only bug I get is when I shoot unconscious people in the head they jump up into the air!

Tips? The opening titles are behind a main mission. You can (I did) run about 15 hours of side missions before even doing that one which was a little jarring. Then there's a couple of missions that really develop your character, if (like me) you still do loads of side missions before the main ones. Meeting Takemura at the diner is a big one that means you get better interactions with Keanu Reeves through other side missions.

If you're st at hacking (Breach protocols) like me there's an app called Cyberpwned which sorts that out easily - just tale a screenshot and you're sorted

Have fun!

WOW!

What a game

I'm a few missions into it now. Took me 10 hours of gameplay just to get to the "main" part . I like to do side missions,
Thoroughly enjoying it.

Just finished it this morning after starting in early October. I managed to cram in 110 hours of play in that time I finish all the gigs, all of the character stories (except the end of Kerry Eurodyne's awful questline) and all of Phantom Liberty.

I'm glad I waited to play it because the game was in such a laughable state when it came out. It's no secret that it wasn't ready, and I went back to watch the first trailer again after finishing the game. It released on January the 10th 2013 and said the game would be released 'when it's ready'. Well, that wasn't true (Corpo pressures, one assumes), but at least after spending a couple of years polishing it CDPR really pulled it off.

Most of the pacing throughout the game is very good and the story threads tie together in a satisfying way. I left the 'down on the street' (meet with Takemura) quest until the end of the game, having had it on the map since about 20 hrs or so (after Konpeki Plaza). It was nice to go back and wrap up that last questline after 100 hrs of other adventures that had developed organically over the rest of the game. They managed the immersion and development of the gameplay and story such that it never descended into a Skyrim style slog of ticking off dots on a map.

That said, I've endured 110 hrs of extremely dense, attention-demanding gameplay with Cyberpunk 2077. I had Starfield on my hard drive ready to play but having seen that Starfield's just 100+ plus of boring, empty worlds, tedious gameplay and lacklustre design I won't be bothering. Cyberpunk has totally raised the bar for FPS RPG games now.

What stage did you stop on it ? Depending on the point it might be worth continuing, though the wrong response at one point can seriously change how it ends.

I played the final gig but I still had a couple of steps to go (awaiting a call from Nancy, I think). I didn't (still don't) feel like it added anything of value to the narrative, instead it all felt like a bit frivolous at a time when the story is otherwise saying 'your time's up, make you decisions and end this'. I didn't even realise until after I'd finished the game that there was more to do with that questline until I checked back.

That said, I've no particular desire to go back and finish that stuff off or see a different ending. I thought CDPR struck a good balance of meaningful choice vs foregone conclusion. You were always afforded some agency in the big decisions but I like the fact that very early on, the plot device effectively sets a doomsday clock on your story and the choices I made secured what I felt was the best ending I could have had. I was glad it wasn't all 'happy ever after'.

I've always enjoyed stories where the good guys lose, or enjoy a pyrrhic victory at best. Think Halo Reach or Mass Effect etc.

Haven't gone for the expansion, but having picked it up again with all the general updates I've started a new playthrough after feeling completely lost trying to pick up my last save from 1-2 years ago!
I've got to say I'm enjoying it again, still a great looking game on PS4 pro and certainly feels a lot more stable than when it first came out!

I’m still just doing gigs and side missions mainly and have to say…I prefer this to Starfield.

I wish this game had Starfields graphics engine but gameplay generally is better I think.

Glad I only discovered this game a month ago too, no bugs that I can see yet.
