When Jaguar came to replace the XK8, which was based on ageing XJS underpinnings, it took the thoroughly modern approach adopted by the X350 XJ and went for an aluminium bonded and riveted monocoque with aluminium body panels. The updated X150 version, as we see here, was styled by Ian Callum, almost a guarantee of automotive beauty.

The XK150 was introduced in 2009 and installed the 5.0-litre supercharged version of the Jaguar V8 in the spicier XKR version. Good for 510hp and 0-60 in 4.6 seconds, it sounds gorgeous and remains quick even by today’s standards. With a smooth six-speed automatic gearbox and 2+2 seating, it makes for a consummate grand tourer.

This example has led a pampered life, covering just 46,973 miles from new under the stewardship of just three owners, who have all been fastidious in keeping up with maintenance. As a consequence, it’s in great condition and should allow the next owner to enjoy many more years of supercharged V8 loveliness.

The current owner has kept the car garaged during his ownership, and is only selling due to purchasing a Porsche 911 Turbo S, reluctantly needing to find the Jaguar a new home.
